Five miles from where we live on the west coast of Scotland, we have a beach that looks out to the Cowal peninsula in the background. It’s cold, windy, and wet in March but we’re happy that the beach and the coastal walk are there. While we were on the beach the clouds parted to reveal the sun and the promise of warmth. Not on that day but the hope of a spring to eventually come as it feels like it’s been a long winter.
I kept the painting process loose and enjoyed mixing the colours on the canvas while making sure I captured the movement of the clouds and the water. Look closely and you can see artifacts like poor quality digital photos to add to the overall low-res look.
