Vistas From The Cut – Looking North

Back again on the Greenock Cut trail and this time the view is to the north taking in the hills and mountains across the Firth of the Clyde to the Cowal Peninsula. At intervals along the path are small stone bridges across the water channel and in the distance Ben Lomond reaches up with snow at the peak.

The bridge’s stone textures and colours were good challenges to put on canvas with the knife. Never just one colour or size, I got an understanding of how they were constructed. I also found representing green or dry brown grass and flowers fun with a flat edge. Objects appear closer than reality.

Vistas From The Cut – Looking North – Oils on canvas 12×16 inch – framed.
