There’s a view of the Isle of Arran that appears on the A78 near West Kilbride. On this day the mist was just starting to lift but the colours of the sky, water and island were all muted but beautiful. Time to paint!
My usual palette knife work but by using acrylic paints I worked it until it was dry and almost crusty to get a very weathered effect. Then I painted on top and did it some more. Quicker than oils but I guess it depends on the impact you want to make.
