Take a drive along the Vendée coast next to La Rochelle and north passed L’Aiguillon-sur -Mer you’ll come to La Tranche-sur-Mer; a nice beach town. Explore the edge of the town and you’ll see the lighthouse near the forest; le phare du Grouin du Cou.
I used a combination of white paint mixes to balance the shades on the lighthouse and the cloudy sky behind it. I also played with a rectangular palette knife for the foreground to create a depth of field effect (lots of fun with that).
Coming to this part of France has always been a relaxing summer holiday for the family and look forward to coming back soon.
