Le Mont

This is my multi-perspective view of Le Mont Saint-Michel in France. You can only get so much detail from photos but going there and experiencing the many buildings, paths, trees and stairs gave me a richer understanding of the environment.
I used the same knife technique with an ultraviolet/infrared style where the trees appear pink, the buildings grey and a mix of blue, violet and red for the background.
This is a darker tone than recent paintings that probably reflects my parallel life in my full time job over the past few weeks. The last time it was like this I created my red and black privacy abstract piece. It’s all about managing the peaks and troughs…
