Based on a specific view looking out to the Isle of Jura from the southern tip of Aird down the road from Ardfern. I wanted to experiment with a mosaic style and be more colourful after the last few landscapes I’ve completed.

Like my other experiments it’s a bit hit and miss. I’ve been told by my family it looks nice from a long way back as long as they were not wearing their glasses. A recommendation indeed…

Just like mobile or TV screens are made of pixels, I wanted to go for a similar look. My design was to show that 8bit style art using paints instead of computer blocks. Each block was placed using a hyper real colour either by a horizontal or vertical palette knife movement and compressed or contracted depending on the terrain. Sometimes challenging like a puzzle, I’m still happy with the final product.
