Clyde Reflections

A familiar view to those travelling on the A8 or living near Langbank in Scotland. On days when the Clyde is calm and the light is right, reflections of the western end of Dumbarton provide a lovely serene scene. In the distance, Ben Lomond’s distinctive peak shows itself nestled in the clouds and it doesn’t matter what time of year it is, this is a lovely viewpoint to the north.

My screwdriver has a place next to the palette knife as a companion tool in my set for the more detailed parts of my paintings. For the texture and impact, I want to make these two tools help me reflect my view of the world in a natural and mindful way.

Clyde Reflections. Oils on canvas (20×24 inch).
