An Abstract Summer Holiday (Part One)

Over my summer break I changed from large canvases to small 20x20cm cradled wooden boards instead. I bought a pack of 6 and created a set of sea and coastal oil paintings in my current theme. Smaller is quicker and the subject matter simpler with my knife however still challenging to use the same style. Another learning experience. The first shows a yacht on a rolling sea with muted sun rays lazily touching the horizon. The second is a more abstract view of coastal buildings imagined from a walking trip on the Isle of Cumbrae.
