Two big influences for this piece on top of my usual palette knife style. Firstly, the majestic Côte D’Azur with it’s beautiful coastal waters and wonderful colours. Secondly, the cubist movement of the early 20th century with a little art deco thrown in. Love them all.
The lines from the sky reach down to the sea and there are connections that link the yachts to the sky and sea. I played with both straight and curved movement across the whole canvas and I always enjoy working with turquoise and blue.
