Abstract sketches as preparation for one of my techart paintings. Something to do while on conference calls. My notebooks are peppered with times when I needed to concentrate and focus on a call. I found these types of sketches showed what was happening in my mind at the time.

You can see the order and pattern in the doodles but at the same time there is a loose flow about them. This is what I like about using pens and pencils: the ability to maintain shape and add movement at the same time. One day I’ll start doing sketches as proper pieces instead of on one side of my notebook. Until then witness the transformation of doodles to paintings as I show a little more of my workflow to the final product.
